The Hayward Main Drain Bumper (Model SP1048AVH) is an accessory designed to fit over Hayward’s 8-inch anti-vortex (AV) main drain covers. Its primary purpose is to prevent automatic suction-side pool cleaners from becoming stuck on the drain cover, thereby enabling the cleaner to operate freely and cover the pool effectively.

A bumper/adapter that hooks or sits across the main-drain cover, creating a raised barrier so the cleaner’s wheels or skirt don’t grab the cover lip.
