I took my Maytronics Dolphin Triton PS to a nationwide pool store that says they work on pool vacuums. After a cursory review, the “technician” told me the motor was shot. I decided to try fixing it myself because I didn’t think the motor was bad. I notice the drive gear on the right-front was sloppy causing the gears to bind and the vacuum would turn off when it became under stress. I noticed the brush adapter and the bigger plastic gear which turns it were worn. I replaced all the plastic gears in the drive (for about $10) and the brush adapter and it tightened up the mechanism and it returned to service. It’s not always the motor and if your warranty period is passed, the inner workings of the Triton PS is very simple, parts are available and it might just be a DIY project. EZ Test Pools has low prices and low shipping rates. They also ship stuff out quickly. I’ll be using them whenever my pool needs.
